A Family Tradition in Northwest Indiana
Welcome to Jeanne's Dance Academy! Miss Jeanne's love of dance and performance led her to open her unique studio in 1950. She has been dedicated to the same values ever since, touching thousands of lives with her endless energy and care.

The Dance Academy which has recently been labeled a "Northwest Indiana Tradition" is now offering this priceless experience to 3rd generation families.

Miss Jeanne along with her staff, provides professional, disciplined training in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, tumbling, kiddie classes for boys and girls, and several specialty classes.

JDA is known for its specialized teaching style–An encouraging positive approach with discipline and individual attention.

The staff takes pride in knowing each student and family, and makes every effort for all to feel special. JDA continues to support the community by offering affordable tuition, which allows everyone the joy of dance and performing arts. Not only are students enjoying their training in dance, but they are being taught discipline, respect, and values they will cherish for a lifetime.

 

Jeanne Laich, Director
Jeanne is the founder and director of Jeanne's Dance Academy, the largest and most renowned school of dance in Northwest Indiana. The names of those with whom she has collaborated in the past on shows and workshops reads as a virtual "who's who" of Chicago dance personalities: Joseph Holmes, Joel Hall, Gus Giordano, Lynda Martha, Tommy Sutton, Bruce Bristol, Lou Conte, Marcus Alfred, and Bill Riley, to name a few.
Kristie Vaughan, Choreographer/Asst. Director
Kristie has been an instructor at Jeanne's Dance Academy since 1983. She teaches all forms of dance and is choreographer for all Young American Performances. Kristie has trained with Lynda Marshall, Lou Conte, Joel Hall, Joseph Holmes, Tommy Sutton, and of course Jeanne Laich. Her training also includes Lake Forest College and IUN which she studied dance, theatre, and fine arts. Kristie also performed professionally at Walt Disney World and in television specials, commercials, and industrials.
